Digital Television

ZDFvision is ZDF's own digital bouquet of channels, in operation since 1997. The platform is broadcast via satellite (ASTRA 1H) and cable, and carries the main channel ZDF, the partner channels 3sat and Ki.KA, the two partner radio channels Deutschlandfunk and Deutschlandradio Kultur, as well as three digital-only thematic channels:

ZDFneo offers a colourful mix of factual entertainment, documentaries, international fiction, music and comedy. It replaced ZDFdoku in November 2009 and is targetting the age group of 25 to 49.

ZDFinfo presents non-fictional features from the magazines of ZDF and 3sat in the areas of arts, science, economics, environment, health, current affairs and news.

ZDFkultur replaced ZDFtheaterkanal in May 2011 and offers a broader definition of arts, including for example pop music and games.

ZDFmobil is the ZDF bouquet for digital terrestrial television (DVB-T), and includes ZDF, 3sat, KI.KA/ZDFneo (time shared) and ZDFinfo. DVB-T has replaced analogue terrestrial transmission in Germany -- the region-by-region switch-off process was completed in December 2008.

ZDF is also present on all existing and future mobile broadcasting platforms (DMB and

DVB-H).
